Is this a time fee? 

This is a one time fee for the use of the editor. The licence allows you to have as many mini websites as you want but they all must be on one url, if you wish to have mobile sites on another url you would have to purchase a second licnece for the editor.

 NOTE: Trail mode does not allow changes to be saved or published.

Is this software on my computer? 

No, the software is installed on your website server.  This means you can access it from any computer with an internet connection.

 

Do you have to install it or can I?   

You can do your own installation if you would like.  If you are not sure how to install it we do offer am installation service for $25.  The installation is a one time fee and unless you delete the files the editor will remain on your website server.

How do I install the files? 

To install on your server.

Do I have to use your designs?   

No you do not.  Our templates are created to mirror our FLashPalette websites, but you can create your own or tweak ours to suit your branding and needs.  If you do not want to design your own, we have sponsored designers that you can contact to work with you to create your own design.

Will this work with others websites?   

Yes. Itwill work with any website that you have hosted on your own server. This will not work with those who have their website template company host their website for them. It may work if you have access to your control panel, but usually sites hosted by others do not allow you to have that access.

What is a SubDomain? Do I have to use one?

A subdomain is a folder on your server that can hold files or even another website.  If your url is www.falashpalette.com a subdomain would be www.flashpalette.com/TESTING. 

Yes you must put your files in a subdomain or they will interfer with your current website files.

 

How do I preview if I do not have an iphone?

We have detailed instructions on our user guide page.

 

I cannot see my changes in preview or published page! Why?

Because you need to refresh the browser, to force it reloads everything from server instead loading from cache.

How Do I direct users to my mobile website?
You will need to add the following code to your splash  page or the  main page of your website. IF you can not edit these then you will not be able to use the automatic redirect to send mobile users to your website.

 

My Images are too big for the screen? 

You need to either resize your images before you import them. You can do this two ways.

1. Size them to 320 pixels wide by 416 pixels tall at 163DPI for I Phones

    Size to 768 pixels wide by 936 pixels tall at 123 DPI for I Pads

2. Use the editor to resize the images on import. The default is 900x600 pixels and you must change the size PRIOR to importing the images.

 

Can I link to another site using the Menu Tabs?
Yes you can make a menu tab be a link to any other site. Just remember that some sites are not visable on smart phones, this includes blogs with flash headers.

 

My site loads slowly what can I do?
There are two things you can do if your site is loading slowly.

You can:

a. resize your images prior to importing them for file size, this means you crop them to the size you want then save using save for web and devices, making sure your overall file size is as low as you can get it and still have your iamges look great.

b.You can select the option on the page that says this is an image heavey page, so your phone knows that there are lots of graphics to load.
