Splash Page Editor User Guide

Create a Splash Page

The Welcome Page -- you will see this each time you login.

SplashWelcome

Click Create New Site -- this is what you will see a dialog box

SplashCreate

The 'Web Address' will be the website address of the splash page you are going to create. Normally you should leave the 'Sub domain' field empty.  Leaving the subdomain empty will put the splash page in your main landing page, or your www.my website.com.  This folder is also called your root folder or public html folder.

Edit Page Content

The splash page can have multiple sections. Page layout is vertical -- each section stacks on top of the other.

There are two types of sections you can create -HTML Section (a section of HTML code) and an Image Map Section (an image with links).

The following screenshot shows an Image Map section. In this demo the user uploaded a single jpg image of the design and created several link areas within the jpg. The link link areas are defined as red boxes with light gray overlay.

To move, resize and rotate the link area (on our image note the handles around 'Blog'). This will defind the are.  The link for each link area is input in the Link field on top of the image. You put in the full url of the link as well as if you want it to open in a new window or not.

IMAGE IMPORT: There are also options to automatically resize the uploaded image. This MUST BE SET before you import or re-import the image.

The HTML section is standard HTML content. To aide you in creating the content you can use our  popup HTML editor. It is similar to most text editors!

You can have more then one text section on your page.

Preview and Publish

To preview the splash page, just click the preview button - the globe with the paper behind it is the preview button. The preview button is located at the top button bar. SplashPreview

The editor will generate a temporary page in a popup window. If you don't see it, it may have been blocked by your web browser. If this has happened look at your browser window and see if there is any option to allow this popups. If changing the popup does not work, you can manually copy it, and paste to a new browser window.

You can click preview as many times as you need,  it does not affect the published page.

When you are done and ready to publish your page, just click the publish button at the top button bar. This is the globe -- and does not have the paper behind it!SplashPublish

If you do not see it check that you are not being blocked by a pop up window.
